Our Team
PaAsYouGo consists of Emelie Jacob Hullegård and Mia Holler; two full time independent language professionals, both native to Sweden, with Emelie living in France and Mia in Austria respectively. PaAsYouGo was created in 2006 by Emelie and another Swedish colleague Linda Johansson. Linda later moved away from the translation industry in the years around 2010 and Mia joined Emelie around the same time.
Over the years we have gathered a broad base of loyal clients, and we have deepened our skills in our various topics and working fields.
Emelie studied English, German, Dutch and Swedish at the University of Stockholm before enrolling in the Translation Program at TÖI where she finished her studies in 2004. After her studies she moved to Southern France. During 2005 she studied French at Centre d’International d’Antibes and worked part time as a shop assistant at H&M in Nice, before starting her translation company in 2006 and she has been working as a full-time language professional ever since.
Her working languages are English, German, French, Dutch, Norwegian and Danish towards her mother tongue – Swedish.
She has a great interest in languages, their origins, similarities and differences and never wants to stop learning. She is currently freshening up her Spanish skills from secondary school and is taking her first steps in learning other languages such as Italian and Japanese.
Mia studied English, Spanish, Dutch, Italian and Swedish at the University of Stockholm and participated in the Translation Program at TÖI where she finished her studies in 2005. After that she spent 5 years working for the Swedish National Police before she decided to go back to her roots, i.e. working with language. She moved to Southern France where she studied French at Centre d’International d’Antibes and worked together with Emelie alongside her studies. In 2018 she moved to Graz, Austria together with her husband, while the collaboration with Emelie continued.
Her working languages are English, French, Danish and Norwegian towards her mother tongue – Swedish.
Her passion for language runs deep and she is particularly interested in etymology, language history and how different languages are connected and how they differentiate. And just as Emelie she never wants to stop learning and expanding her language knowledge. For the moment she is working on mastering German to be able to incorporate that in her working portfolio.
